Dear Author Devon Delaney,
As a lover of cooking shows and a self-proclaimed foodie, I found book nine of the Cook-Off Mysteries, A Holiday for Homicide, thoroughly enjoyable. Getting to know this group of likable people was a pleasure.
Sherry possesses a charm that pulls you in. Her bubbling excitement at being selected for the cooking competition, even though she had to keep it a secret, instantly fascinated me. I’m not sure how I would handle a non-disclosure agreement during a time like that. I enjoyed how you skillfully blended that atmosphere with a growing sense of unease, suggesting that something intriguing might soon boil over. The napkin notes created a suspenseful atmosphere that kept me on edge, anticipating each delightful twist and turn.
The connections between the characters in the book were also well done. Don’s supportive stance, without impeding Sherry’s progress, was admirable, and her connection with Kat seemed real. The interaction with Detective Bease was collaborative and refreshing.
The story grabbed my attention right from the start, and while it took me a moment to find my footing, I soon became hooked as the events unfolded. Mixing the cooking competition and the underlying mystery blended perfectly. I lost track of time, eager to see how everything would intertwine. It was such an engaging experience!
And the bonus recipes at the end served as the perfect dessert to a fine read. You will be happy to know that I made the Ranch Steak Bruschetta Salad with the Horseradish Dressing, and it was delish. I would have loved more recipes!
Thank you for creating such a fun read. I’m really looking forward to reading your previous and future works.
With Warmest Wishes,
