It’s not just an interview
It’s a professionally produced marketing tool
that includes advertising and promotion that transcend the Internet
Not all interviews are created equally. You may get a free interview just about anywhere. Often only a handful of people hear it, the audio is poor and the interviewer is unseasoned. What good is an interview if it’s not advertised and promoted?
We’re different and we want you to be different too. Interview with our radio host veteran, Pat Rullo and you will come away with an audio file you’ll be proud to share on your website, social media and email blasts. Kind of like an audio business card that lasts into perpetuity. Plus – while everyone else is vying for the attention of the same Internet demographic – we’ve added a twist – an extra layer of exposure to an untapped audience. You and your interview can be heard on iTunes, iHeart Radio as well as scores of additional online venues – PLUS you have the option of airing on all of our terrestrial radio and television affiliates heard each week on Speak Up Talk Radio Show on Salem Media Group stations and more.
Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
How did you find me?
Our staff knows what to look for when it comes to locating interesting people and topics. Often we get referred to specific people and websites. Perhaps something on your site spoke to us. Sometimes your photo causes us to say – ” we want to know more about this person” or maybe your topic is important to share with others. All potential guest websites are furnished to the radio host Pat Rullo for final consideration. You can ask her personally about her reason. We do not randomly contact just anyone.
So – how does this work?
You’ll be interviewed via the telephone by author and radio host veteran Patricia J. Rullo, hostess of three nationally syndicated radio programs Speak Up Talk Radio and Speak Up and Stay Alive and the new Eleven Cats Radio. Your topic, book genre or message can be on any subject and we will explore and share your work with our listening audience.
The interview is pre-recorded to allow for edits if necessary to help make you and your message shine.
We add copyright free music during the intro and outro to add extra polish.
All proceeds fund the pillowcase project – sending handmade one of a kind pillowcases to homeless veteran shelters, women and children’s domestic abuse homes and animal shelters with your name as the donor. THE SEWPORT PROJECT
Who is the host? Will I be in good hands?
In addition to hosting three nationally syndicated radio programs, Pat is a respected author, speaker and trainer in the patient safety world and has worked with hospitals such as the Cleveland Clinic to help improve the patient experience. Her vast and impressive body of interview work with physicians and scientists throughout the world led her to found this network – The Speak Up Talk Radio Network where she primarily interviews authors of all genres. She is a certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and has held sales and personality training sessions with New York Life, Transamerica Life and other insurance companies throughout the country. She has authored four books, written for scores of trade magazines, is an advocate for animals, is attuned in animal reiki, has 13 rescue cats and a very old cockatiel, and most importantly knows how to make people feel comfortable during any conversation. Her warm and friendly style will immediately put you at ease and you’ll feel like you’re talking with an old friend.
Here’s what some previous guest authors had to say:
My books and topic have nothing to do with patient safety. Why would I interview?
Pat’s background may include patient safety but she has interviewed and aired over 2900 authors who were promoted on her nationally syndicated radio program called Speak Up Talk Radio. That particular program is known for its broad topic selection and wide audience appeal. From fiction to fantasy, history to mysteries – all topics and genres are welcome. Will my interview broadcast at a specific day and time?
We’ve done away with time-slots and specific air times as a way to attract and retain more listeners for you. Your interview airs every day 24/7 live streaming and on demand. Listeners have the option to listen to the shows in order as they appear on the player or they may specifically select your interview (on demand) and can listen over and over again. This model allows people from all over the world to hear you without having to tune in at 3:00 in the morning. This means more listeners for you!
Where and how do you promote my show outside of the station’s website?
There are 5 answers to that question. It depends on which level of exposure you choose. Once you make the choice and schedule your interview on our online scheduling page – you’re done. It’s like being on auto-pilot – well, at least for you.
So there are 5 interview choices? Tell me more about the options.
It’s like getting Option 4 TWICE PLUS 26 weeks of radio ads for $14.46 instead of $75 each. Now that’s quite an opportunity!

What payments do you accept?
You can pay by check or credit card – Master/Visa/Amex
Why do you have a hosting fee? I can get free interviews all the time.
Anyone can have a podcast or a website with audio but not everyone is trained in radio broadcasting. This opportunity goes way beyond an interview. In addition to a professionally produced interview conducted by a trained and seasoned radio broadcasting host, you get advertising. You may find a free interview but no one offers free radio advertising. And radio spots on terrestrial (regular) radio stations are not cheap. We’re also available on over 4 million car dashboards as well as iHeart Radio, iTunes, iOS, Android, Nook, and iPad, TuneIn, Stitcher, Spreaker, Player FM and many other listening venues (Salem Media Group stations and our Station Locator) Host Pat Rullo takes the time to prepare specifically for your conversation and builds the questions according to what you want to convey. This is not a cookie-cutter ‘we ask – you tell’ stiff and rigid back and forth. Pat knows how to zig and zag if needed to make the conversation flow in a natural, easy and fun manner. You can listen here for some additional unsolicited ‘end of the interview’ responses from previous guest authors.
Are there any additional fees other than the initial hosting amount?
So the hosting fee funds a charity project?
Your nominal hosting fee funds THE SEWPORT PROJECT – where we make and send handmade pillowcases to homeless veteran shelters, woman’s and children’s domestic violence homes and cage comforters to animal rescue shelters. We’ve been doing this since 2010 and originally worked through Soldier’s Angels. Your name is added to our next pillowcase delivery as the donor and is mailed or hand delivered directly to the recipients. See Proceeds Page. It’s a great way to do what we love to do – talk radio – while giving back. So your hosting fee not only gives you a professionally produced interview to use as a marketing tool plus advertising on high profile radio venues, but also funds the purchase of fabric and supplies needed to make and send the pillowcases.
Can I post the audio on my website?
Yes – You are free to broadcast anywhere else on the Internet, including your own website, social media, email blasts … In fact we encourage you to use this marketing tool to promote yourself whenever and wherever you can. We will furnish you with our logo too so you can embed the audio within the logo on your website if you choose.
What do you need from me?
You can send us a short bio, contact information, a picture of you and any books or products you’d like to share.
May I see the questions ahead of time?
Absolutely. We’re not here to trick you or make you nervous. About 95% of our guests prefer ‘not’ to know the questions ahead of time, as a way to make for a more natural sounding conversation, but if you’d like to prepare prior to the interview, we will happily furnish the questions to you. You can even create the questions for us if that makes you feel more comfortable. We are open to anything. After all – it’s your interview.
How soon after the interview will I get the audio?
We are fast like lightening. You will have your audio file and the page link within 24 hours. But really it’s usually in a few hours depending upon the work load that day. Pat will share more specifically on the day of your interview.
